Sarah Palin, using an old, tired page torn from the playbook from the far right GOP, sounded the opening volleys of her campaign for the 2012 Republican Primary, which included a strong message for the US media and for "starlets" in Hollywood.

Without specifying whatsoever what the hell she meant, or who in the media was at fault, or what misleading statements were behind her comments, she stated "“So, how about, in honor of the American soldier, quit making things up,”

She called out unnamed individuals in "Hollywood" for using  “starlets” who rail against gun rights, specifically “anti-hunting, anti-second amendment circuses from Hollywood,” Palin said advocacy groups “use these delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlets.”

By this she meant Ashley Judd, who used her stature to help inform people about aerial hunting of wolves in the Arctic.

Palin, hoping to educate the misinfomed, offered such individuals this message: “By the way, Hollywood needs to know: We eat therefore we hunt."

Um, Get Real, Sarah.  First, aerial hunting of wolves is not a guns rights issue.  Nice try.  Well, ok, not so nice try.  Second, and I think more to the point, we don't eat wolves.  Well, most people don't.  You might.  I'm sure THAT would help you with dog-loving voters all across America.

She even aimed her fire at an undefined group who she deemed insufficiently patriotic.

Some in this group, Palin said, “seem to just be hell-bent on maybe tearing down our nation, perpetuating some pessimism and suggesting American apologetics.”

Palin appears to be ignorant of the fact that the current President of the United States has in fact apologized to much of the world for the errors of the last Republican administration. No 'suggestions' necessary.  And appropriately so, according to the many people who voted for Obama based on his foreign policy plans, which were vastly superior to your PNAC orders.

According to some who listened to the speech, Palin sounded like a shrill, spurned woman having a hissy fit who was bent on score-settling.

Palin is clearly seeking to provoke headlines.

Ok, now that that's over, Get Real suggests that the press  do Palin a solid and refuse to cover anymore of her amateurish antics and hissy fits.

They don't help her one bit.

Run, Sarah, run!

Alaskan Governor and former Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin complained about David Letterman's joke about her daughter being impregnated by Alex Rodriguez.

On the "Today" show on Friday, Palin claimed that Letterman's joke had contributed to the "acceptance of abuse of young women" and called on people to "start really rising up."

Not going there.

Anyway, look, Sarah.  You don't get David Letterman's style.  He wasn't joking about your real daughter - either of them.  He was joking about a hypothetical, unreal, fake, pretend daughter who was impregnated by a baseball player.

Clearly, your daughter has not been impregnated by a baseball player, right?

SO GET REAL, PALIN.  IT'S NOT YOUR DAUGHTER.

Only you seems to not get that.  We expect comedians to play on our suspended disbelief.

Get Real also notes that neither you, nor anyone else in the GOP, has come to the defense of Alex Rodriguez and other Hispanic baseball players.

Are you really so insensitive, Sarah, to let it pass by that vicious, racist David Letterman insinuated that Alex Rodriguez is some kind of pedophile? A rapist? DURING THE GAME???

There are a lot more Hispanic baseball players who vote, maybe you should have appealed with outrage to them instead.

We find your pretend dismay and self-righteousness, and your logic, well, tortured.

Every now and then, politicians hand us one-line lies that stick.

Like Sarah Palin did last week when she told

Gov. Palin has plenty to hide.  And it's not just Troopergate.

First, the emails and audio tape show clearly that people who answered directly to Palin pressured for the firing of the her brother-in-law trooper (Wooten), as well as the Commissioner (Monegan) when he refused to fire him.  A bipartisan Legislative Council has ruled that the Commissioner will stay, (actually, he is to be re-instated), in other words, that Sarah Palin was wrong in her efforts to fire him..

Today Sarah Palin announced that she REFUSES TO COOPERATE with an investigation. This is a reversal of her position when she said she would welcome an investigation.  Read the CNN report.

Ok, let's move on to what life will be like when Obama and Biden win the election.

But before we do that, let's also review what else Gov. Palin has to hide:

(1) The accepted the Bridge to Nowhere money, but never built the bridge.  She kept YOUR federal tax dollars.
(2) She failed to sell the Governor's jet, and then ended up losing money on the deal.  I wonder who profited?
(3) She was selected by (as Get Real put together in an earlier article) by the People for the New American Century, not by McCain.
(4) She has no (none, zero) foreign policy experience.  Worse than that, she is indescribably ignorant in the area.  She didn't know what the Bush Doctine is.  That's the war policy of the current president that has led to the deaths of so many American men and women have died in Iraq.

Now that both the trooper and the Commissioner report that she lied to ABC's Charles Gibson last week, it appears that Mrs. Palin has been.. um, no double standard here, ok, everyone?... caught with her pants down.

With nothing to hide.

Part of me thinks that the whole Sarah Palin thing is a smoke screen.  What about the RNC's candidate for president?  The thought for today:  Let's not forget that McCain is woefully inexperienced and ignorant in economic matters.  All he knows about money is how to help his wife spend hers and buy so many houses that he has lost count. 

That alone should disqualify him.

These are some mightly powerful allies.  But I'm puzzled... confounded.  Confused.   With all of these candidates, it leaves one to ask: WHY PALIN?

It's possible that the reason why McCain chose Tina Fey look-alike, Governor-Sarah-Palin-of-Alaska,-whose-is-currently-under-investigation-for-ABUSE-OF-POWER-for-her-apparent-retaliation-(by-dismissal)-against-Public -Safety-Commissioner-Walter-Monegan-for-refusing-to-fire-her-former-brother-in-law,-Alaska-State-Trooper-Mike-Wooten,-who-at-the-time-was-involved-in-a-divorce-and-child-custody-battle-with-Palin’s-sister,-Molly McCann....

it's possible she was chosen because she would fit right in.

After all, she's quite the environmentalist:

According to GrizzlyBay.org, there are 10 Top Things We need to know about Gov. Palin:

1) She is presently under investigation in Alaska for abuse of power

2) She strongly supports big oil (her husband works for oil company BP)

3) She believes creationism should be taught in public schools

4) She is opposed to birth control even amongst married couples

5) She is opposed to abortion even in cases of rape and incest

6) She has no federal or international experience.  Prior to being governor (for less than two years) she was only the     mayor of a small Alaskan town and a beauty queen!

7) She believes global warming is a farce and is opposed to listing the polar bear as an endangered species

8) She supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and anywhere else big oil wants

9) She supports Pebble Mine which will destroy the richest salmon run in the world

10) She supports aerial shooting of bears and wolves in Alaska.

Ok, since I wrote a song about #10 (Cry of the Wolf), Gov. Palin lost me on that one.

Most people would ask "What does this say about McCain's judgement?".

Not me.

Now, my point, friends, is not that Miss Wasilla can't be VP.  Or P.  My point is that the PNAC needs someone who will do their bidding.  Someone who will answer to them.  When the PNAC first courted McCain, they promised, I'm sure, the candidate his spot at the top... as long as they could pick the VP spot.   They probably promised him all the oil in the world, too. 

Ok, I apologize to friends of McCain.  But the only other plausible explanation I can think of is that McCain wanted to throw the election.  He's lost the woman's vote.  He's lost all hope of ever getting ANY environmentalist' vote.  He's lost the black vote.  He lost the Asian vote long ago.  I predict he will lose the Hispanic vote in ANY DEBATE... just read McCain's lackluster and non-committal position on on immigration where he promises funding to Federal Funding to Attorney's Offices in Border States. To insure that the NeoCons do not ever run the White House again in his lifetime, McCain has secured the White House for Obama/Biden.  He's a true patriot.

Or it's all about oil, oil, oil.

It's all over this election.  The GOP is dripping in oil.  Follow the money.  Who has the money?  Think, think...

Here's PNAC Chairman William Kristol PREDICTING the Palin pick, and claiming that it will cause gas prices to plummet.  Who is in control, Mr. McCain?  Whose choice was this?
